Michael Fux, a successful businessman and supercar collector, is the owner of the first Hispano Suiza Carmen Boulogne in the United States, which has become his first all-electric car. Mr. Fux received his new jewel in front of 22,000 attendees at the 27th edition of “The Amelia”, one of the most important automotive events in the world. After the official unveiling of his brand new hypercar, he shared what his experience had been like.
What did you think when you first saw the Hispano Suiza Carmen Boulogne?
When I saw it, I automatically started thinking about how I wanted to customize it. In the end I got what I was looking for. And from the reaction of everyone here, it’s obvious that they all agree with me. People love it. Everybody has fallen in love with the car. When they see it, it’s like flies onto honey.
How did it feel to drive it for the first time?
I tested it at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the circuit where Formula 1 races. I was impressed by its speed. And I wasn’t the only one, because I invited Tony Kanaan, winner of the Indy500, to come with me. I asked him to come to Barcelona because I wanted him to test it and give me his opinion. After driving it, he told me “Michael, when you asked me to come, I did it as a favor to you, because I didn’t think it was going to be anything special. But this car is really very fast and it handles the corners beautifully.”
From the purchase of the vehicle, to the customization process, and then the delivery, what has the experience been like?
It has been very interesting. I met them in October 2019, and I went to Barcelona on two occasions: in February 2020, and in July 2021. The first time I went we already talked about the car and the colors I wanted. After that they sent me color samples for the exterior and I sent them a flower as a reference to show them the tone I was looking for. After that they sent me back samples executing what I had asked for. I also told them I wanted the white seats with purple thread, and they showed me several ways to do it, so I chose the one I liked best, and that’s how it was applied. The end result has been spectacular.
¿What have people said about your new Hispano Suiza Carmen Boulogne?
Everyone has gone crazy. All my friends who have already seen the car can’t stop talking about it. Every time they see me they come running to talk to me about it. It’s just a beauty… They all congratulate me for having such a beautiful car. They know that I like colors, and that when I get the color I like, the car looks fabulous. This has been the case with the Carmen Boulogne.
You specified every last detail of the car, what do you think of the final result?
Attention to detail is very important to me, and Hispano Suiza has carried it out fantastically. The car looks fast standing still, because it’s a sports car, but it also looks luxurious and retro. It turned out beautifully. They have done a fantastic job.
What was the delivery of your Hispano Suiza like?
Very lovely. I hope the rest of the people who saw it enjoyed it as much as I did while I was explaining my experience. We couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect than this.
Where do you imagine yourself driving this work of art?
I want to drive it on the highway. I want to drive it either on the Florida Turnpike or the I-95. This is going to be a lot of fun. I just hope I don’t get many tickets.
How does it feel to be the first owner of a Hispano Suiza Carmen Boulogne in the US?
I take a lot of pride in owning unique pieces, so owning a Carmen Boulogne is something I’m very proud of, because I feel like I helped build it. When you create something that is a success, you feel proud. It’s a dream come true, and I’m very proud of what Hispano Suiza has done, because they have perfectly captured what I wanted. I dreamed one, and now I own one.
