A competitive team

It was one of our best kept secrets but finally we’ve been able to shout it from the rooftops: the Hispano Suiza brand is returning to competition racing, in style and of course, with an electric vehicle. We’ve just presented our Odyssey 21 to compete in the Extreme E, the electric SUV championship scheduled to start in April 2021.

Hispano Suiza has always embedded the values of sportiness and competition in its DNA and this new project is the culmination of the rebirth of the brand. We’re very excited. The whole team is. The Hispano Suiza Xite Energy Team is clear proof of the importance of preparing every day to do our best. In competition, the demands are even more strenuous.

Team spirit

“A team is a (small) number of people with complementary knowledge and/or skills, who are committed to a common purpose, who set their performance goals and agree on the approach to achieve them.” This formal definition should be suitable for all teams of any kind, sector or business, although we know that this often doesn’t happen. In the case of the Hispano Suiza Xite Energy Team, the definition is more than accurate.

I always say that “teamwork” isn’t the same as “team spirit”. Everyone’s performance in a model where all the people fit together is vital. But it’s even more vital to share values such as openness, tolerance of the other’s point of view, interest in other people’s achievements, mutual support…

In this multidisciplinary team, each person has contributed his or her knowledge and experiences, as well as his or her temperament, way of relating to others and cultural pattern. From Julià Mundet to Rubén Mayo, from Jonathan Fernández to the drivers Christine Giampaoli Zonca and Oliver Bennett. A mosaic of minds and hearts at the service of a common goal and with a way of achieving it that makes them feel responsible, individually and collectively. In addition, teamwork has a great quality, which is none other than to create a context that develops capabilities, so that its members not only have their capability or proven capabilities, but also potential. This has only just begun.

Only through teamwork and team spirit can any organization/project like ours aspire to unique achievements. In this sense, we’re on the right track. Work hard and good luck!
